Terms of Service

    The short version. Mali is an AI assistant that helps you understand your own money. It is not a financial advisor, accountant, lawyer, or tax preparer. Don’t make big decisions on Mali’s say-so alone. Use it as a smart conversation partner, not as professional advice.
  

1. The agreement

By creating an account or using Mali (“the service” — at malimoney.com and any related apps), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. The service is operated by TBS Enterprises LLC (“we,” “us”).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). By using Mali you represent that you are. If you’re using Mali on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

3. Your account

You sign in with Google. Keep your Google account secure — anyone with access to it can access Mali.
You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account.
One person, one account. Don’t share, sell, or transfer accounts.

4. What the service does

Mali lets you:

Link bank accounts via Teller to see balances and transactions
Upload financial documents (PDFs, CSVs, statements) for the AI to summarize
Chat or talk with an AI assistant about your money
Get AI-generated insights, summaries, and answers based on your data

5. Not financial advice

Mali is an information tool, not a regulated advisor. Anything Mali says about budgets, spending, investments, taxes, debt, or financial planning is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not personalized financial, investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice. Before acting on anything Mali tells you — especially involving money — consult a qualified human professional licensed in your jurisdiction.

6. AI accuracy

Mali uses large language models. They sometimes get things wrong, miss nuance, or hallucinate facts. Always verify any specific number, claim, or recommendation against your actual statements before acting on it. We’re not liable for decisions you make based on AI output.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Free tier: Available at no cost, with usage limits (monthly token quota and no voice minutes).
Voice Pro ($4.99/mo) and Voice Premium ($29.99/mo): Subscriptions that unlock voice conversations and higher quotas.
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring monthly charges until you cancel.
Cancel any time from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.
Refunds are not generally offered for partial months, but if something is genuinely broken on our end, email us and we’ll work it out.
If usage exceeds your tier’s included quota, overage may be billed by the 1,000-token unit at the rate disclosed in-app at the time.
We may change pricing with 30 days’ notice; the new price applies at your next renewal.

8. Acceptable use

Don’t use Mali to:

Violate any law or third party’s rights
Upload data that isn’t yours or that you don’t have rights to upload
Reverse engineer the service, scrape the API, or attempt to bypass authentication or rate limits
Try to extract or train on the AI providers’ underlying models
Send malware, spam, or content designed to harm other users or systems
Impersonate someone else

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

9. Your data, your responsibility

You own the financial data you upload or link. Granting Mali access doesn’t transfer ownership.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that data only for the purpose of providing the service to you.
You’re responsible for backing up anything you don’t want to lose. We aim to be reliable but make no guarantee against data loss.

10. Third-party services

Mali integrates with Teller (bank connections), Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in, hosting), and AI providers (xAI/Grok, OpenAI). Your use of those is also subject to their terms. We’re not responsible for outages, errors, or actions of those providers.

11. Termination

You can delete your account any time via Settings. Your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
We may suspend or close accounts for violations of these Terms, prolonged inactivity, fraud, or if we shut down the service.
If your subscription is active when terminated for cause, you forfeit the remaining period without refund.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We don’t guarantee the AI’s output is correct.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TBS Enterprises LLC, its officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the service — even if we’ve been advised of the possibility. Our aggregate liability for direct damages will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or (b) USD $100.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, or damages (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the service, your data, or your violation of these Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged in-app and at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
